Hawk Eye

by Michael D Nalley   Jan 14, 2005

My brother in Christ has the spirit of a hawk
When he soars high above the clouds he loves to talk
His thoughts are moving much to fast to take a walk
Those whom misunderstand are frightened by his squawk

While he is soaring high in the sky
He sees the whole world with his hawk eye
And he refuses to live as if he will never die
Not liking to come down to earth when he is flying high

But still I do pray, that he would slow down, to see the rhythm of life
As he accepts the freedom of flight, accept the confinement of strife
The same as he should accept the security of the love his wife
He knows giving up this love forever will cut him like a knife

A hawk who seeks nourishment in the darkness of holes
Will find that his eyes are as useless as that of moles
So, Hawk Eye, don't get confused while seeking earthly goals
Put all of your faith and trust in the Savior of souls

To all of your brothers and sisters in Christ, you know this is good advice
We all hope and pray that the hawk will soar forever in paradise
