BEYOND THE LIMITS

by Robert Zaragoza   Jan 14, 2005

What love is this?
That which can surpass the laws of life and death.
I had the unfortunate pleasure of experiencing this.

The glimpse into the unknown began when my eyes were welcomed to a haze of vision.
Time moved undoubtedly slower than normal so either I was dreaming, or death had come upon me.

As I stood motionless there began to appear things before my eyes that the living would describe as evil. They seemed to be as close to the touch but then mysteriously vanish into thin air.

The woman that had brought me everlasting warmth enters. Her beauty clears the haze and soothes my fears. The question that runs through is how can we be when she is alive and I am dead?

Was our bond so strong that it eliminated the natural occurence of life and death?

At the time, it did not matter to think thickly of it. She mattered. Every page in my mind told a story about her. Confiding to her my heart I attempted to understand every move, every gesture, and every thought as humanly possible.

As she moved closer her smile melted my heart. An occurence that happened so many times. I always imagined her being there to welcome me into the afterlife, a fantasy that seemed to be coming true at that moment.

But it was not. Glancing at the corners I noticed evil reminding me of its presence and apparent anger to what was happening before its eyes.

Somewhere in the back of my head I feared that this moment would not last long.
She knew it would not last long. We had broken a rule that had been born since the very first organism had lived and died.

Damn it all!

I would gladly receive infinite punishment as long as I got to know her and love her.
She is my nothing, she is my everything, she is why I live.

As I embraced her for the last time, I knew that nothing would keep us apart.
In the least case was a breath and she came to mind.

We held eachother ever so tightly.
The haze returned leaving only her face to see. I reached for her lips and kissed her forever.

Darkness fell and my arms felt nothing. She was gone. Taken by the very evil that had been lurking nearby since our eyes first met.

I fell to the ground, shutting my eyes tightly, knowing that my punishment had begun. Encased in a tomb of darkness till infinity.

Tears ran down my face as I gasped for air. This horrible nightmare had gone to which I have awoken from. Wiping away the grief from my face, my fingers lightly passed my lips. The warmth and taste was still there. My hands now held tears of joy as I realized we will meet again.
