I never saw the knife
As the light made it shine
I never saw my life
As it flashed before my eyes
I never saw my wrist
Upturned and vunerable
I never saw myself
Self-destructive and pliable
I never saw the blood
Covering my arm
I never saw the the reasons
Not to self-harm
I never saw the floor
As my head rushed to meet it
I never saw my death
And never thought to cheat it
