Leaving you

by shae r   Jan 15, 2005

You left a bruise on my face
It seems you were born to fight
You then promised me never again
Would you hit me out of spite

But by the second time I’d had enough
And as you raised your fist
I screamed then fell to the floor
And luckily you missed

Every time you’d hit me
And every time you’d yell
You’d plead for my forgiveness
And beg me not to tell

You’d say how much you love me
Then throw it back in my face
And the perfect guy I thought I knew
Would disappear without a trace

I’m sick of people telling me
That I belong to you
But I control my own actions
And I’m leaving you
