This Young Girl

by CareBear   Jan 15, 2005

A smile on her face
Laughing so much tears swell in her eyes
She partying and having fun
Is she really happy?
She popular and free
Her parents, they love her
So many girls jealous
Could things get any better for her?
If you asked her she would say no
But deep inside she wasting away
Her happiness has drained away
A dying soul
A cold heart
Shes been acting right from the start
The girl you all wish to be has a secret
A secret hidden from the world
Not even her closest friends know the truth
She keeps things locked inside
But not anymore
Tonights the night
A razor in her hand
A knife next to her bed
A packet of pills
A bottle of beer, several more nearby
And downstairs a gun
Tonight she'll no longer have to run
She cuts a slit from her wrist to her elbow
She takes the first 5 pills and shoves them in her mouth
She skulls her first bottle of beer as the blood starts to flow
She cuts again, this time slightly smaller
A smile appears on her face as she watches her crimson river flow
She pops some more pills
Onto her second beer
She reaches her fourth by the time she takes more of those tablets
On her fifth she stumbles down the stairs
Dripping blood stains her path
She doesn't care, she won't be here to clean it up
Reaching for the gun
So close yet so far
She pulls it off the shelf
It's loaded
She holds it to the roof of her mouth
She has done research
This has to work
She wants to vomit
But she pulls the trigger and falls to the floor
Her parents arrive home to hear the bullet take their daughter to her instant death
They race to her side
But they're too late
Her mother drops to her side and holds the lifeless body
No one expected this young girls suicide
In her room they find a note
"I'm so sorry for what I've done
In this horrible war death has won
It's better this way
I'll no longer feel the pain I felt
I know to you I seemed happy
But happiness is a feeling I've never felt for long
I've wanted this for so long
I'm sorry, I love you all
So very sorry you had to watch me fall
I guess this is my final good bye
Good bye"
This young girl she had everything
Well so they thought
But life isn't worth living without happiness
This young girl proved that suicide is unpredictable
So when someones down, take the time to listen
Don't run away
Take the time to care
