Turned you to ash.

by Adam Murphy   Jan 16, 2005

I killed you today,
Throwing love letters into an open flame,
smiling as they slowly burn,
and fire quickly erases your name,
Red hot ash swirls into the air,
Of this cold winter night,
It already seems like you were never there,
Every things so clear in the fires light
relieved I sit down with a sigh
happy that were truly done
All I can do is wonder why
i ever thought you could be my one
now our memories fade away
both the good and bad
and to us being over i must say
well...i must admit I'm glad
we were just a mix of lies
that i had to leave
now as i cut our last ties
I'm no longer gonna try to deceive
You never held a place in my heart
none of it was real
just a game from the start
nothing compared to what i feel
for the beautiful girl
by whom you were replaced
and as sad as it may seem
it only took her seconds to completely erase
everything you thought we had
so this poem is to let you know
in no way am i sad
...this ended a long time ago
so stop saying my name
and don't talk about me
everything you think we had now lies in a flame
its all ceased to be
so as you act like its all a joke
and make me out to be a liar
just remember to me your nothing but smoke
rising from an open fire

very expressive. I believe we all feel this way sometimes, even about our truest deepest lovers. Then again, we feel the same loathing for our friends, family, and enemies. Love hurts....great job portraying that.
