Wanting To Know Me

Open my heart and leave it to bleed
Lick up the blood that spills
The essence of me you say you need

Here are my hopes dreams and fears
You say you can combat
Everything from my screams to my tears

I’m just not so sure you know what lies ahead
When I am opened there’s no going back
Don’t you want somebody else instead?

You tell me I’m the one, with a gentle kiss
And suddenly in that moment
I experience pure bliss

And in that moment I know it’s gonna be OK
I lay my heart on the floor, without regret
And I don’t know how, but I know you won’t walk away.
