She's Letting Go

by Princess Mags   Jan 17, 2005

Feeling like everything in this life is no longer good.
She picks up the knife like she thinks she should.
She cuts over the scars that were there from before.
But this time she's careful.
She even locks the door.
once again, she's found a moment of peace.

The next day at school is the same as the rest.
She's constantly being reminded that she has never been the best.
Everyone thinks she's crazy because she doesn't speak.
Why cant they just understand that her soul has just become to weak.

She goes home just like every other day.
Her family chooses to ignore her, in the same old hurtful way.
They don't pay enough attention to even realize that she is crying.
Maybe if they knew her better, they'd know that inside this poor girl was dieing.

She goes to her room, because even if she was around they wouldn't notice.
She doesn't understand what she's done to make them act like this.
She turns on the music, and listens to the same sad song.
All the while thinking of everyone who has ever done her wrong.

She picks up the phone, and calls the only one who pretends to care.
She still doesn't know if he means it, or if he just wants to say that he's there.
As usual they get into another fight.
This time its over who is wrong and who is right.

After she hangs up, she of course, blames herself again.
After all, would he act like this if she didn't put him through so much pain?

The next day, those who claim to be her friends, ask what is wrong.
She says nothing and smiles, while her heart cries all along.
She sits in class and thinks about everyone in her life.
Still, he's the only one she can think of as to being a reason for her life.

She doesn't want to hurt him anymore.
She knows that every time she does, she's one step closer to making him not care anymore.
She decides to end it for good.
That way he can go on living his life happily, just like he should.

She tries to think of those who are going to care.
No-one. Because if they did, they would help her when they saw her cuts, instead of just stare.

She goes home and cuts again. This time is different though.
These weren't just playful scratches, these were deep enough so that she could finally let go.
