Over yet?

The memories are long forgotten
The fruits of war and peace are rotten
The spoils of the war have long been won
The battles of past are finally done

Armies that march from here to there
No longer have to fear the scare
Of bullets flying, ricochet
And the doom predicted, prophet

The battles past both won and lost
Has loss of war has had its costs
The losses will be greatly mourned
So future generations may be warned

The high price of deadly fighting
Though it has allure exciting
The payment for our violent seduction
Shall be our complete and utter destruction

But we have become more advanced
And the battles more enhanced
It all revolves around computers
To put less risk on commuters

But in the end it all is war
Even if we don’t know what for
We fight the endless battle
While our young men die like cattle
