The Game of Love

by Kathryn   Jan 18, 2005

Why fall in love and break your heart,
When the pain can be prevented right from the start.
Whats the point in givng your heart away,
When the one you love might lead it astray.

Love is like a candle,
After a while it burns away.
Then your just reminded,
Each and everyday.
Cards,Gift and flowers,
Mean nothing in this game.
When all you'll get in return,
Is misery and shame.

People fight for love,
But love can fight back to.
And the only person left suffering,
Is usually only you.
You heart can tell you one thing,
But you mind always wants more.
The only way to stop this game,
Is by walking out the door.
