Forever Torn

Each night my pain grows, and has nowhere to go.
And I look back on my memories that made me feel so.
Getting harder each moment, as tears from eyes spill.
The scars remind me that the past is real.

Staring into the dark as a boy, listening to the screams.
I used to lie awake, wishing it was just a dream.
But each night, the screams became louder.
And each question I asked made my mind cloudier.

Living in darkness and pain, I thought my life was dead.
And then the heavens opened up, as I lifted my head.
Looking toward the sky, I saw Him set you free.
As an angel starting beating her melody, coming to me.

She saved my life from hell, and put me under her spell.
Love and happiness were all I felt, and I knew she could tell.
Each day just lifted me up, and I felt like I could fly.
The feelings so disgusting left me, of when I wished I would die.

But the heavens reopened their golden gates, and took her away.
Tears flooded my eyes, cause I thought forever she would stay.
The light is flickering out, along with the new hope that was born.
Now I’m back to darkness, and my life is now forever torn.
