Betrayal

The stinging bitterness of love
Brings about my fear of you
I wear this shield like a glove
To protect me for the few

There are many out there
Why claim they’re friends
But most are just unfair
And never make amends

The ones you love rarely return
The feelings that you have
Although you may yearn
For the one kiss that will save

I’m falling in to this abyss
Drowning in my love
My only dream is simple bliss
To take me up above

Your betrayal of my dreams
Will be felt for many ages
Although different from my screams
And will be printed in the pages

The last resort of this abandonment
Is for me to forgive and forget
But in all your beauty and my amazement
You are the one who should regret
