My Horrible Story

by Tanya, Mom of one.   Jan 20, 2005

When I was young my mom never told me,
Of things yet to come.
I was twelve and in the prime,
Of having childhood fun.

I remember like it was yesterday,
Walking thru the woods.....
It was snowing, I had a cramp,
I ran as fast as I could.

Into the house I quickly walked,
Past my dad to the bathroom.
I thought it was because I ate too much!
My body making room!!!

I sat and sat and nothing came,
Until I started to wipe......
I looked and there was blood every where.....
I knew for sure I'd die!!!!

By this time my dad and mom,
Had been split for three years.
I screamed, "DAD!! HELP!!!!"
On his face was total fear.

Here he was facing his child,
His precious little girl.....
Not knowing how to explain the facts,
Of this cruel and awful world.

He did the best that he could,
Except that there was a blizzard.....
No way to get to the store....
To make a pad, he'd have to be a wizard.

My poor father finally gave up,
And turned to my sister in law for help,
Well, no use she was pregnant,
As if we couldn't tell!!!!

This is a true story so bear with me,
Remembering it makes me laugh.
Finding out I would do this every month....
Made me want to take a hot bath!!!!

Forget that crap, how could I sit?
When something down there is flowing?
It would look like Psycho hit.....
Or somebody got run over while mowing!!!!

I called my mother to tell her the news,
She was quiet, as I expected.
She should have told me the facts of life.....
I felt like I was infected.

So single dads, there will be a time,
When you have to explain the facts...
I hope its not during a blizzard...
And I hope you have a little tact!

Beware you little girl is changing,
Each and every year!!!!
I'll never forget my dads face,
And his total look of fear.

It's funny now looking back,
God must have a sense of humor!
To think I was in the bathroom....
Thinking I was dying from some bad tumor!!!!!

(I can't believe I wrote a poem about this........)
