If others hadn't of told that lie,
that started the feeling that made you want to die,
would you have shed that tear?

If I had told you the truth instead,
which would have ended those thoughts going through your head,
would that be what you wanted to hear?

If I made sure I was there by your side,
not pretending like I was actually along for the ride,
would that have eased your fear?

If I had been the friend that I wanted to be,
and was not so afraid of what the others thought of me,
would you still be here?
