Our Cry

by Tashan   Jan 20, 2005

Each generation is faced with a struggle
But does it get better or worse each time?
Do we know how it’s changing, how we’re playing the game
Or is it just rhythm and rhyme?

We’re faced with the obstacles that life throws our way
And we somehow get through them it seems,
We fight and arrive to the other side
But are the obstacles oceans or streams?

Are they listening to us, and what we’re trying to say?
Or do they continue to turn a deaf ear?
Are they trying to understand and help us out?
Or waiting for the emotion of fear?

There are more of us, who want to make it work,
Than there are of those who don’t.
There are more of us, who will continue to fight,
Than there are of those who won’t.

It’s like a maze of the emotions we feel
And there’s only one way out,
It’s like the bad dream that keeps us awake,
While we toss and turn about.

We lift our heads up and begin to move forward
Till the setbacks, again come our way
Are they going to make us stronger and then disappear?
Or are they going to be here to stay?

The thought ‘sink or swim’ comes to mind,
When I think of the life that we live
The questions without answers unleash in my head
When I ask myself what we can give.

Till then, it remains that we live as it comes
And we try to make it work for the best,
For each day that we lose, we know it holds true
We’ll prevail and withstand the test.
