Suburbia

by FTS Miles   Jan 22, 2005

Amidst the trash cans lining the street
In preparation for garbage day,
The early evening flicker-window of the
Post-twilight TV consumption,
And the Christian homogenization
Of behavior, sexuality, and SUV,
There is yet magic in this soul-dead place
As the moonlight falls upon Suburbia.

I love your POV, and the fact that even though this sounds so depressing you bring it back with the last couple of lines. This is a really different and unique poem. I liked how you kept it short but packed with such vivid imagery. Nice work :)

Wonderfully written. You just gave me a new perspective of suburbia. I love your style and the way you give ordinary things a whole new meaning.

*Sigh...I guess I''m just going to have to add you to my favorites now.

Thank you, Monique! And it was my pleasure. You have some great poetry and I wish I would have had more time to get through more. I will definitely be going back, though!
