Just this time last week,
I was down the main street when I stopped and I sat on a bench,
I stared up at the clouds
In addition, I said out aloud:
"today is so boring just look at the clouds, not even a shape in the sky"
I wished and I wished that something would happen, but then I just started to frown.
I looked at my feet and started to weep,
"oh I wish the circus would come to town"
It was then when I heard it, the most wonderful sound,
Therefore, I stood up at once and I turned right around.
And, I saw what I’d wished for, the circus was there.
I sat back on my seat and started to stare,
They paraded right past me, how lucky was I?
First came the ringmaster with a glint in his eye,
Next were the lions, their tamer near by.
Next was an acrobat waving his hand, closely followed by a big brass band.
And each in their line they paraded in time,
All the way, down the street.
But to my surprise they just kept on going,
So I looked back down at my feet.
But this time my wish was to be with the fish under the deep blue sea. Then I heard a new sound, I looked up and around, I was now in the sea there were fish floating by, and there wasn’t a sky,
Then up swam a mermaid, right up to my bench, then she turned and she swam right back, inch by inch.
Then I wished I could fly, right up in the clouds, and I started to fly so I said out aloud:
"today isn’t boring, just look at me flying, higher and higher, right up to the sky"
But the sky was too lonely, no people around, so I wished that I was right back on the ground.
And back there I was, right back on my bench,
I looked all around and I saw a blue finch, fly right past my bench and I was not bored anymore!
