The Soldiers Dream Fright

by sarah jenkins   Jan 22, 2005

A soldier in the night Cries out with a scream,
No one around to help him it was all like a dream,
Laying on the ground watching enemies go by,
How he wished to see his wife, he did not want to die,
He closed his eyes and thought of her smiling face,
All he ever wanted was to be away from this place,
He wanted to have a child with his beautiful new wife,
How wonderful it would be to start a fresh new life,
A new wife and a child, a new house for them to grow,
He wanted to tell his wife how much he loved her so,
But as the soldier was dreaming deep inside his mind,
If only he would wake up beside him his wife he'd find,
Finally screaming out yelling out "Someone Please Help Me",
His wife turned him over so her face he would see,
With tears in his eyes he said "I thought i was dead",
"Sweetie its OK, for your right here in your bed",
He hugged his wife close and kissed her good night,
For every night now he'd have the soldiers dream fright.
