Me-I see them hand In hand
Her-one black
Me-one white
Her-by day
Me-by night
Us-we wish this could have happened sooner
Me-the judgmental people
Her-stare
Me-at them walking
Her-but they don’t care
Us-we wish this could not have happened
Her-the staring
Me-it’s scarcely scaring
Her-we wish that people would just stop caring
Me-about the color of our skin
Her-its way to daring
Me-we should start caring
Her-about the things within
Me-the persons mannerisms
Her-is what really matters
Me-not the color of the skin
Her-but the deepness of the soul within
Us-within the heart of each person there is a goodness in there soul
Her-for everyone to see this…
Me-daring to care
Her-about each other
Me-and treating each other
Her-as you would your mother
Me-with the love
Her-and respect
Me-in which we deserve
Her-to be treated
Me-with equality
Us-that is our life-long dream
