Don't judge a book by its cover!!!

Crisp white pages
all exactly the same
like so many children
that don't have a name

fashioned and stapled
told who they are
their parents holding
them back with a bar

held and enforced
theres no escape
from things they endure
abuse and rape

a cover holds back
more than you know
just open the book
let feelings flow

but these books can't
shout out or call
they need a hand
before thy fall

I'm one of these Books,
bound so tight
i won't give up
without a fight

maybe one day
I'll be lifted high
but until then
I'll try and get by.
