I'm Sorry Mommy

by Tiffy   Jan 23, 2005

Mommy dearest
Do you remember when I was 5
I would cling to you
Like a leaf on a tree?

Mommy dearest
Do you remember when I was 10
I would scream and cry
Yet you never hurt me because you put up with it

Mommy dearest
Do you remember when we would fight
"I hate you" I would spit
I even caught you crying
At one point in time

Mommy dearest
Do you remember when I turned 13
The fighting stopped
We were friends!
I told you everything

When she hurt me
You told me "friends don't do that"
Thus, you made me stronger
Know I can handle my friendship myself

But Mommy...
Why have we shut each other off?
I need you Mommy I need you
I need a hand to hold
A smile to make me laugh
A hug to warm my heart

Mommy dearest
Where have you gone?
Can we revive our relationship?
Or...
Is it too late?
