Every Time I Try

I try and dry my tears
And keep them from my face
But every time I try
There’s an obstacle set in place.

I try and hope again
And set my dreams to sail
But every time I try
There’s an obstacle making me fail.

I try and give up self harm
And give up on my blade
But every time I try
There’s an obstacle already made.

So next time you say to try something
I won’t, cos first this obstacle needs to go
So until that’s sorted, don’t tell me to try,
Cos I don’t want to know.
