Cowering In The Corner

Cowering in the corner
Back against the wall
She slides to the floor
To save herself the fall

Tears stream down her face
He had did it yet again
Memories haunt her mind
Pain takes over her brain

12 years old, already broken
Trapped in a world of violence
No one ever hears her screams
So she learnt to live in silence

So much blood now shed
So many scars mark the pain
Evil words forever said
As he rapes her body yet again

Her innocence has been stolen
Her body will never heal
Inside she feels so totally numb
Emotions she cannot feel

Her mother left years ago
Her father was her abuser
He was always beating on her
Just another drunken loser

Somebody so young inside
Having to deal with so much
No one there to save her soul
Or save her body from his touch

Even now eight years later
He is in my room every night
Waiting for me in my sleep
Making me relive the fright

The scars will never fade away
The damage is just too deep
I am too afraid to stay awake
But much to scared to sleep

A child now forever trapped
In a world of constant fear
Even though he left years ago
I still feel his presence here

I will never escape from this
The ever lasting damage is done
I cannot fight this any longer
In the end my father has won
