In Your Hands

Dear Lord, please watch over me,
please keep away the pain.
You've now given me another chance at life,
you've shown me how much more i have to gain.
You saw where I was headed,
and knew it had to change.
So you threw down some curve balls,
put a few road blocks in my way.
You introduced me to new people,
and through them you are showing me the way.
But, before you pulled me out of my hole,
Satan had a tight hold on my life.
He showed me what temptation is,
taught me how cruel the world can be.
Then one day you had enough,
and shined your light down on me.
Since then my world has been different,
turned right-side-up from up-side-down.
I'm not changing for me, Lord,
but to better myself in your eyes.
You brought wonderful people into my life,
to help me realize what you had in mind.
Thank you for what you're doing,
and everything you have in store for me.
But most of all, Lord,
Thank you for another chance to change.
for giving me another chance at life.
If it wasn't for you Lord,
I don't know where I'd be.
But you're showing me how much you love me,
and that you really do care.
and for this, Lord,
my life is in your hands.
