Layers

by Jacklyn   Jan 25, 2005

Ogres have layers,
And onions do to,
Just add me to the group,
The only difference is they both have to few,
I out number them greatly,
All because of you,
All because you left my heart cold,
Cause you left me alone,
The deepest layer I hold,
Is a scar on my heart,

All the layers people gave me,
Beat me up rough,
Like mom and dad fighting built them on top,
So many fights brought their marriage to an end,
Stuck between two families, as they fight around me,
You didn’t help, saying you would always love me,
You said things I though you meant,
But you just filled me with huge lies,
All the people I thought I could have trusted,
Gave me so many disappointments and layers in my life,

I got layers that reach to the sky,
I got layers only paper thick wide,
None can you see, but I feel all the time,
Layers of happy, layers of sad,
Mostly layers made by liars,
Made by backstabbers,
Made by so called friends,
Made to “help” me but did nothing in the end,
Made of lonely disappointment in life tears,
So many scars my heart holds, I slowly losing my hope.
