Another dark and stormy night had come
With no sign of sun or sky
The girl's parents were in the kitchen
Whispering, but why?
The girl sat quietly in her room
Staring at her wall
She was unaware that the very next day
All would be lost, all would fall
Her mother stormed in, with a bottle in her hand
Tears rolling down both cheeks
She looked her daughter in the eyes
"This day had been planned for weeks"
The girl couldn't run, were would she go?
She did all she could do, sit there and not know
That evening, not a single star shone
The moon was dull that night
Raindrops fell to the ground
Still the girl just sat in fright
The death to come was not yet there
The child still had time
She grabbed her teddy and ran out side
The clock, at 12, would chime
She ran far, and farther away
She creeped through the wet streets
The cold wind beginning to blow
ding, ding, dong, ding, a happy tune did play
At a church doorstep sat the girl
one car passed, nothing did they say
She hugged her teddy tightly
Pressed upon her cheek
Hoping someone would find her
Her heart, was growing weak
A tear of sorrow grey in her eye
And she had doubts about all this
But in her heart, hope wouldn't die
And her parents she didn't miss
She fell asleep at the step of the church
the clock's hands were now 6:14
And the priest came to the church
Sunday morening the poor child had been seen
In the church, he took her
And wrapped her in a quilt
In front of a heater, eating soup
She told him about almost being killed
The married priest who loved to love
Took the poor girl home
And she loved her new parents
As if they were her own
But still, what else was missing?
Not hugging, or kissing
Every night she still had fears
Every night she still did wonder
Under a waterfall of tears
