Moving On

Moving on from love is so hard
Memories leave you forever scarred
You know in your heart it is right
The only way the future can be bright

He is all you know inside your heart
Without him your world is torn apart
But still you must stride past the pain
And let happiness in your life again

I met him awhile ago back in mid-may
He changed my whole life that day
Promises of love and the word forever
I honestly believed we belonged together

Not long after reality began knocking
The real boy that emerged was shocking
He did not care for me like he had said
Wouldn’t have noticed if I were dead

Messages ignored, waiting by the phone
Finally excepted I had never felt so alone
He led me on into a world that didn’t exist
A world of love that I could not resist

I haven’t contacted him for weeks now
With myself I made a moving on vow

The only word left to say is goodbye
