Each One

by CareBear   Jan 28, 2005

My poems aren't all the same
Each one expresses a different type of pain
Just like the scars on my arms
I'm sorry you think they're repeadative
But they are different to me
Each one holds a different story
A different set of lies
Lies I must tell to keep my sanity
They must believe I am happy
Each one of my poems releases my anger
My pain
A healthy alternative to cutting
Although the river still flows
Crimson still stains my soul
My scars also have their own story of pain
Each one telling to world the truth of my life
The pain I've suffered
The hate I've felt
The hurt I've endured
Even still it all remains
Reminding me "you're worthless"
"you're hopeless"
Scared to think about the future
Afraid of what it will bring
Ashamed of my past
Living in my memories
Each poem, Each cut
They slowly set me free
But you don't understand how it feels to live inside your head
Surrounded by memories
Suffocated by the hurt
Each one brings me back to reality
Where things aren't so bad
Not so painful for now anyway
