The Sound Of Misery

by ♥-Sharon Ardern-♥   Jan 28, 2005

A distant sound
Now coming closer to me
Now it’s all around
Screaming black misery

I cover my eyes and ears
Trying to keep it away
But slowly it draws my tears
And forces them to stay

Engulfed in this torment
Not even knowing why
Now this last year I’ve spent
Aching to simply die

I long for it to be distant once more
But every day it sinks deeper
And as I cut my flesh so raw
I become my own keeper

I have created a one way hell
My silence burnt the key
All can never be well,
Once you hear the sound of misery.
