Temptation

by SammiBABY   Jan 30, 2005

I know it may be tempting,
to run a knife across your wrist,
But don’t get sucked into the game,
it’s easier to resist.

I know you think I’m stupid,
you say,”I have to release my pain,”
But cutting gives you temporary relief
then the hurt comes back again.

In many years you’ll look back,
at the scars upon your skin,
and realize that pain stays,
it’s permanently locked in.

You see, scars hold memories,
that you have to live with everyday.
A long time ago I cut myself,
and the remains won’t go away.

I’m left with these angry marks,
To remind me of my past,
Just because I chose to cut,
what’s over has to last.

So deal with your pain better,
use your imagination,
But take it from an ex-cutter,
Don’t give into the temptation.
