Sobbing of the Children

by Kevin   Jan 31, 2005

Everyday of my life I saw
children crying and sobbing
into the arms of their ma
looking into their eyes
I knew they'd been like this too long

When they went to school
When they walked home from the park
they'd get thrown in the pool
they were victims of another's hatred
the ones that threw stones at birds

And when they grew up
they did naught to stop it again
they did nothing to disrupt
this awful harmony that had begun
this song that had to end

I saw the sadness
that crept into their lives
they learned to always cherish kindness
they would everything to keep it
but they never knew how to give it

They would grow to be sad heroes
or unhappy slaves of life
These children could be lined in rows
but never counted on hands
victims all
