Snowed in Escape

by They Call Me Megan   Jan 31, 2005

I sigh as the iridescent snow silently cascades around me
Everything is turning gray with worry
All I can hear is the soft falling of the flakes upon the already gathered piles
I’m queasy with anxiety
No two same flurries land on my frozen tears to dissolve themselves away
Vibrations of approaching feet crunch towards my fallen figure
I feel the snow give way to my lover’s being
Turning in my direction he whispers, “It’s all just a surreal reality, escape with me.”
I hold him close enough to reckon his heartbeat
My last tears tumble down on our lips as if a symbol of the end
I sigh as the iridescent snow blankets over our escape.
