*Written when I was 13*

You stabbed me in the back
I lived in your world of betrayal
My eyes were closed
I was deceived
Living in a world of lies
And only wishing I would die
But now my poor friend I can see
Now you smile as if I didn’t know
Act as though everything were fine
Someday you’ll find
When I am strong
And you are weak
When I am bold and you are a coward
I was always aware I too could see
Someday, someday, you’ll see
