Ghost of my past

by Johnny Mac   Feb 1, 2005

Eyes of the ocean
Blue and wide
A contagious smile
With nothing to hide

Images found running through my head
Haunting my spirit, turning in my bed
This can not be real, for she has been dead

She smiles and I smile back
Forgetting the real she brings back the past
Were laying in a field, full of flowers and tall grass

She holds my hand
I wished for nothing more
She tells me she misses me
And that I was worth dying for

She had me convinced
But something was strange
Something with this situation
Something had been rearranged

She notices my worry
I noticed it too
Her blue eyes turn red
For I had remembered the truth

She did love me to death
And this I can see
But she had killed herself
She did not die for me

This poem is really sad, but very well done. Is this about one of your friends?
