Letting Go

by hayley williams   Feb 1, 2005

I look like I am desperate
Because I refuse to let you be
But I just want to hold on
To the feelings you had for me

I know that they were real
If only for a second in time
And giving up on such emotion
Seems to be a passionate crime

To never again feel your lips
Or have your fingers in my hair
To never again hear I love you
Or to know how much you care

A wasted love that couldn’t be
So many feelings left unspent
A heart so bruised and broken
A valentines card never sent

My eyes have seen too much
They remain red from the crying
I love you still with all I have
Inside my soul is already dying

I want to be strong right now
But I cannot help but be weak
To know that I have lost you
That we will never again speak
