War and peace

by Jacob Perry   Feb 3, 2005

War and peace
What’s the difference anyway?
War is painful
But so is peace
Just look everyday
Out on the streets
Always a war
Admitted or not
A war on terror
A war on crime
A war to end the violence
How that works I just don’t see
Death to fix death?
Pain to fix pain?
Even though it seems insane
It happens every single day
You ask yourself why
But lying does nothing to teach
You know the reason why it works
so practice what you preach

Lacked depth somwhat, but that is ok as it makes the message very clear and helps it to stand out. the flow of the peice is very smooth and it is basicly very well written with a strong mesage within.

I agree with Kaylee and finalgravedigger - It was a fairly shallow poem, but had a good look at the truth in everyday war. However, you begin at the start by saying,

    War is painful
    But so is peace

And go on to explain the pains of war - without any further mention of peace. There is no pain in peace, and if there is, then it isn't peace. Apart from that, I liked your poem, the rhyming, again, intirgued me - your style is very individual.

    Peace. [Sole]
