Translucent Dreams

Silence is all I hear
Sometimes the sound of a car going by
I lay awake in my bed
With not one open eye

As I lay there peacefully
With my hands behind my head
I try to think about happy thoughts
So there wont be a single tear that I shed

Times are getting tough for me
And this I know
But I will suck it up and try my best
To not let my true feelings show

I doze off to a land
Where everything is perfect and free
And in this wonderland
I am kneeling on one knee

I ask the Lord
To forgive me for my mistakes
Because I must have done something
To deserve all these heart aches

I see a light at the end of a tunnel
And this I do not fear
Because I know once I step through
Everything will disappear

But it is not my time
So this I must wait for
I regain consciousness
By hearing a knocking at my door

Maybe one day
This will come true
But until then
I need to just live this through
