Severe Pain

The pain most severe is love…

The pain of loving someone so much
That you would give away your heart, your soul, your life…

The pain of loving someone so much
That you would gladly give up what you used to hold so dear…

The pain of loving someone so much
Knowing that they love someone else…

And yet, the happiness that can occur from such a love
Is well worth the cost…
For if this is not true…
I have sacrificed what I hold most dear to me for nothing…
Except experience…and a hallow chest…
