Wielder of Death’s Torrents

by Ð맆îñ¥   Feb 3, 2005

The bells are ringing; they’re calling me home
The panpipes are singing; they’re holding their own
The sword finds its bearer; the marks burn bright
They’ll glow even when all hope is out of sight
As I find out who I am and from where I came
And I take on my birthright name
As I take up my title and set forth on my mission
All my knowledge fades as I enter superstition
As I wade through the river leading through death
Listening for a sight or unfriendly breath
I look to the stars and I know my place
And I look back to that canine face
And at life’s end when the ninth gate draws near
Abhorsen replaced with Remembrancer
The bells at my side, the sword at my waist
I leave the lonely river and make home in haste
My duty calls me and my courage holds its gaze
I turn to the east for this dawn of days
