Frozen Heart

by Jacklyn   Feb 3, 2005

I am only 14,
But I have seen too much rain,
Been through too much pain,

I fear those nights,
Where he comes home drunk,
When he comes after me, once he smacks my mom around,

I can’t hide anywhere,
Just makes matters worst,
This is the world I know, with no where to go,

Hide all the cuts,
Hide all the wounds,
Hide all the pain that he has put me through,

One night he just took it too far,
I ran out the door,
I didn’t even take the time to grab my coat,

The snow was freezing cold,
Now where do I go?
Can’t go home, I would just get hurt even more,

I headed to the park,
And sat against the willow tree,
Hopefully help comes soon, this is what I pray,

Police then surrounded the area,
With a body bag in hand,
The snow had stopped falling; it’s morning again,

I’m only 14,
But I died in the night,
Fell into a deep sleep, which I will never wake again.
