Seeing Me

by Clarity   Feb 3, 2005

When you look at me,
What do you see?

I’m not just another pot smoking teen
But I have heard and I have seen,

Where those kinds of choices lead
Down a path to a life I don’t want to lead.

I’m not one of those people, who take a wrong turn,
And then goes down a path of no return.

Nope that’s not me
And if you look hard then you’ll see,

That I’m a dancer and a poet,
But if you’re reading this then you already know it.

My life isn’t colored rose,
But it’s not full of sorrow and the woes,

Of a smoker or a drinker
Because I’m not those, I’m a thinker.

I’ve told you how I see
myselfself,
but how do you see me??

More importantly how do other people see you?
If they see you in a bad way, there is something you can do.

Make some changes that are good,
And people will put you and people should

See you in a better light
Did you know that you don’t always have to fight?

You can go with the flow
And show

Others you’re for real,
On how you feel

If you have problems, work them out.
You don’t have to scream, you don’t have to shout.

Now as my poem reaches its end,
I hope you know how you want your life to end.

I know I’m not just another pot smoking teen,
But how about you do you want to be labeled as a pot smoking teen??

I know I don’t want to be, like that
Do you?? Think about that.

    I agree.
I think on some parts, the rhyming was a tad too forced. Nice, though..

PS. What do you mean by "Sour Straws and Eggroll??" ... did my poem remind you of them? I don't see how, but thanks for commenting on them :)
