Mr. Clock

by Dani Ward   Feb 3, 2005

People take you for granted,
don't think about you much,
yet you're in all our lives,
you help us so much.
people watch your hands move,
as they sit and stare,
bored out of their minds,
don't have a single care.
they watch you in expectation,
waiting for something to be,
maybe waiting on their love,
who they can't wait to see.
watch the hands as they move,
they should've been home,
could they be hurt badly,
or are they just on the roam.
ah, look at that,
the hands say it's time to go,
must be at work or school,
must go out and mow.
oh they move so slowly,
watch as they creep by,
so close yet so far,
for the time to fly,
you hold what can't be held,
and show what can't be seen,
as it flies by us,
or creeps past, between.
we carry you with us,
on a wrist, in a pocket,
not very often,
but also in a locket.
oh no i see now,
the hands say to be at the dock,
so i leave you with a big thanks,
for your help Mr. Clock.

The last bit seemed like a forced rhyme. Anyway, it was good. (I think the other one was better =P so yeah) Anyway, nice write.
