Silent

by Nikki   Feb 4, 2005

To live in a world
where emotions run wild
where memories forgotten
like the last time she smiled

Just like so many others
her childhood so broken
But unlike all the others
the crimes, the tears unspoken

not a word has she said
not blood nor bruise explained
never to tell on the ones she loved
so the bruises, the tears remained

friends became scared for her
soon alone was what she'd prefer
no one to trust, no one to smile
deciding to give the kife a fair trial

Knife at her side
she began to cry
realizing she had no one to miss
and no one to tell good bye

the knife hit the floor
as the door swung wide
a drunken angry father
quickly took four strides

She closed her eyes
and crouched to the floor
her fathers hands around her throat
she stopped crying, she didnt care anymore

opening her eyes, gasping for air
struggling, her hand hit the knife
she picked it up, in both hands placed
stabbed it in her fathers meaningless life

breathing easily , she smiled
she laughed, life was so dumb
she looked at his stone face
seeing exactly what she'd become

knife turned back to her heart
smiling she cut through layers of skin
telling herself she wasnt to play the part
dieing that day, smiling within
