My Problem

I messed up, and sadly I know it,
I didn't mean to break your heart.
I could say "I love you," but I can't show it,
And the lying would tear me apart.
We were building up such a good friendship,
Until I messed it up that day,
When you told me you loved me I got scared,
Because I don't love you that way.
I wasn't able to lie to you,
Or look you in the eyes.
I think I kind of muttered "Oh..",
You took me by surprise.
Now things haven't been the same,
It's like you're scared to talk to me.
I'm sorry if I gave you wrong impressions,
But more than friends we can not be.
Still, I need you here to be a friend,
I'm sorry that I can't give you more.
But I lost the most important thing to me,
When our friendship walked out the door.

****Hey if anybody has any advice I need some help. One of my best friends told me he loves me the other day, and I couldn't say it back because I only see him as a friend. Now I think he's been avoiding me, and I don't know what to do about it. Should I be pretending to like him or something?****

    hey.. well i am like your friend.. i am the one who likes the best friend.. I say it took alot for him to tell you that.. so he is prolly embrassed now b/c you dont feel the same way.. maybe try and talk to him about it.. even if it means chasing him down to talk to him about it.. he is more than likely just hurt but i say he will still want to be friends.. the poem was great.. and thanks for the comment!! it really meant alot.. bye bye EJ

    Hey... the worst possible thing you could do is say you feel the same when you really don't. It will take time for him to get over it. Just let him have some space. If he truely is a good friend he'll be able to come back to you. I really don't know if that will help at all sorry. Nice poem thou lol

    hey jamie I'm sry this happened to u it happened to me too but I was the guy tellin it to the chick : ( and well we were going to go out and everything cuz she liked me too but she didn't want us to break up and ruin our friendship so we decided to just be friends so you'll kinda have to decide what to do here you could just go out with him to make him happy but that's not fair to you if you don't like him so i think you should just tell him how you feel and he should get it unless he's a jerk or he likes you alot so...
    anyways great poem didn't mean to comment twice but oh well lol
