Tears of the Dark Queen

The wind whistles in the cold night air
A shadow passes across the path
And even the stars cower
As a terror expresses her wrath

She rose out of the ground
With bat-like wings as dark as the sky
Black smoke floated all around
The death of all was nigh

Her long nails shined blood red
And her dress like a shadow hung down
Along all the ground she tread
All flowers whithered and would frown

Red lightning flashed behind her
And her power near and far could be felt
The shadows together looked thicker
As they before her knelt

The queen of all the darkness
Terrible yet deadly fair
Shadows in her fatal caress
A beautiful nightmare

Her voice flows like a river of death
Foul but smooth and cool
The fateful words drift upon her breath
And with screeches like a ghoul

Her soul is charred and black
The fire long ago quenched
Her heart has many a crack
And in bloody tears is drenched

She came to this Earth in search
For a chance to be alone
Maybe a few things besmirch
And in her sorrow moan

The leafless trees quake in fear
As she climbs above the limbs
She turns them red with each bloody tear
And as she cries, her life dims

All feelings leave her dark soul
As each passing second goes by
Of her powers she looses control
As they make the whole world cry

Then she thinks that maybe
If she must suffer too
Why should the rest be free
The anger surged through and through

The Earth cried out in agony
All grew mad and insane
And thought it could never again be sunny
As she shared all her terrible pain

Then it all stopped
She went back to the dark forest floor
All living things drooped and flopped
As the fabric of everything tore

Her awful deed was done
Never again would she do this
And to Earth come
As she began to miss

She drifted back below
Among the pain and fire
To her black stone seat she would go
To spend her days in the shadow of the dark spire
