One Timber Spiel

by N J Thornton   Feb 5, 2005

Crisp green basking in the sunlight
Chocolate brown firmly stood, alone
Reaching to the sky with swaying arms
Wishing to find the means safely home

Sweet chirping bounces upon the bough
To set up home inside the heart
In the lull amid wrinkles and scars
Hums a melody to enchant Mozart

While cluttered at foot, by surplus beings
Emerald leaves dress a blithe crown
Forlorn, in the centre of nature’s kingdom
There wrapped in a mortal gown

Evening shimmers on a still branch
Quenching the bustle by a golden stream
Earthly fingers sway in the breeze
That soothes to a natural dream

Beautiful imagery that brings the scene to life... I wish I could be there, frankly.
