If Only You Would Trust Me!

If only you would trust me
Things would be so much better;
Then we would not
Have to quarrel so much.
All the bitter wrangling
Would be gone,
And there would be no more envy;
None of that vicious stare in your eyes,
No painful diatribes.
If only you would trust me,
There would be no need
To have written this poem.
