I enjoyed this one greatly. Though admittedly, despite the references to Sappho and Lesbos, the narration of the poem felt more masculine than feminine, and I couldn't help wonder what nuance might have been brought with more feminine a voice evinced. |
Indeed. In fact, since this one was more impulsive than the others I started assuming a female's narration, however, as I'm wont to do, I crossed over at some point to one of a male. |
