Claim Me

by Just Sierra   Feb 8, 2005

Darkness claimed the undying
I, me, my eyes left crying
My heart shattered
Too numb, nothing mattered

Lately, it would seem
That every night I dream
I’m choked with my tears
But no one hears

My blood is falling
On the floor calling
There, to simmer to glisten
To anyone willing to listen

My tears
They’ve fallen on deaf ears
Either that or no one will care
For the marks on my arm I bare

I still hear your whispering
You’re voice is blistering
In my head it throbs
Muffling my sobs

The gags around my wrist
I can’t mangle or twist
My heart beats with no sweat
My eyes wandering, never met

For some reason everyone ceased
To look at this hideous beast
My eyes are majestically wild
But the intensity is mild

If you look into this carrier
Past the appearance barrier
Maybe it’s possible to see
The old, nonexistent me

Can you see the strawberry hair?
Do you see the freckles there?
Can you see the eyes of eternal blue?
Well, I can see some me in you

No matter what you want to believe
My looks are easy to deceive
I never meant you any pain
But your thoughts echoed in the rain

Rain, please claim me
Please save me
Rekindle this broken heart
Heal what’s been torn apart

Soften my tears of cold
Ease my life so old
Fix my heart from being shattered
Soothe my life battered
