Saw You

I held you the closest
I ever have before
Your sorrow so deep, for you could not see
You’re the only love that I adore

I hate that I hurt you
I had no idea you cared for me as you do
We lay there for hours
And I hated myself more for not crying too

Then I finally let out
All my heart was holding in
And as I saw you let yourself go
My tears built up and began

I realized none of this was worth it
I could liberate everything else but you
That night I saw who you really are
And through the tears you finally saw me too
